| What a Week! |

Well . . . this last week has been very stressful and chaotic for me. Last Sunday, my dad was taken to the hospital with hernia complications. They sent him home Monday afternoon, but ended being taken back in and having emergency surgery that same night. The surgery was a success, but then he began having horrible pains and they discovered he had a blood clot in his lung and had at one point in the recent past had a heart attack. Now my dad is a retired dairy farmer who doesn't really know how to relax. He's used to working through all kinds of health problems because cows don't care if you're not feeling well, they have to be cared for regardless. After he stopped milking cows, he joined a band and has been very busy with that the last couple years. After one really bad night in a quite a lot of pain, he began the slow road back to recovery. He's finally able to get out of bed by himself now and hopefully will be going home soon.
So now you know how harried I've been this past week. Worried about my dad's pain, my mom's health (because she didn't get much rest or eat right the whole week either), getting back into the thick of working at school, and trying to help my daughters get projects ready for the county fair. I really need a vacation! |

| Here I am |

And yet again they have added a new job to my list of things to do every day. Such is the life of an aide. Do whatever your told to do. Luckily, I work fast and then I have time to write stories, read, check out the net, etc.
Summer went by in a blur of baseball, soccer, music lessons, and various other activities my kids are into. I believe I spent 1/4 of my summer in the van either driving them here and there or waiting for them. But it did give me a chance to read almost all of the Resident Evil books as well as a stack of manga. I didn't accomplish my goal of finishing all the fanfics that are scattered around in notebooks or on the computer, but instead was lured by plot bunnies into starting even more stories! Cursed plot bunnies! And, I only finished a few AMVs.
So today I plan on spending time cramming in everything I didn't seem to have time for during the three months of summer......reading, writing, PS2, and planning my next AMV (hopefully a contest entry).
And so ends the story of my summer vacation. |
